Iran Crisis: Jeremy Hunt unveils European-led Gulf “mission” to protect oil tankers

Britain will seek to put together a European-led maritime mission to protect ships in the Strait of Hormuz, Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt has announced. A further Royal navy warship will also be dispatched to the region following the seizure of a British-flagged tanker last week which was denounced by Mr Hunt as an act of “state piracy”.
