Left-Green Opposition Leader Of Iceland To Be Next Prime Minister

The opposition leader of Iceland, Katrin Jakobsdottir, will be appointed as the new prime minister, following an agreement by her party, the Left-Green Movement, Reuters reported. The agreement involved the formation of a coalition government. The Left-Green Movement was the second biggest party in the snap parliamentary election, which took place on Oct. 28, the report said. The party took part in coalition talks with the Independence and Progressive Parties two weeks ago. The Independence Party is the central partner in the current government coalition.
