Mexico Gas Shortages Prompt More People To Swap Cars For Bicycles, Scooters, Horses

People and police forces across Mexico are turning to alternative forms of transportation amid fuel shortages across the country as Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador closed several vulnerable pipelines during a crackdown on fuel theft on Thursday, according to Mexico News Daily. Police officers in the Mexican state of Nezahualcóyotl have started patrolling on bicycles as municipal authorities are trying to ration fuel and prioritize its use for emergencies only. While some vehicles will remain on patrol, more than 250 offices will be using two wheels to get around and perform their jobs.
