Natural History Museum Will No Longer Host Gala Honoring Brazilian President Bolsonaro

The American Museum of Natural History in New York said on Monday it will no longer host a gala dinner which was planned to honor Brazil’s new far-right President Jair Bolsonaro as “Person of the Year,” according to The Huffington Post. The Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce’s plans to honor the newly inaugurated president at a museum dedicated to science and nature when he has been called one of the largest threats to the Brazilian Amazon rainforest and has suggested pulling Brazil out of the Paris Accord.
