The Pentagon announced on Wednesday, there are about 2,000 American soldiers in Syria — four times more than any official number previously acknowledged by U.S. officials, according to The Washington Post. Pentagon spokesman Army Col. Rob Manning unveiled the number during a gathering with journalists, the report said.
